BayTech is starting a School Site Council that will meet once a month, providing parents and guardians the opportunity to serve as liaisons and voices for parents, provide helpful perspectives that drive school decisions, fundraise for school events and increase community involvement.

The Marcus Foster Education Institute (MFEI) provides Oakland students with educational opportunities, and to work with the community to meet student needs. MFEI has issued thousands of scholarships to Oakland and more recently Bay Area graduates. The MFEI scholarship application is open to Bay Area high school seniors in the Oakland Unified School District, the Pleasanton Unified School District, children of employees of the Port of Oakland, Black young men graduating from any high school in the 9 Bay Area counties and continuing undergraduate college students.
