BayTech is proud to announce that we are partnering with Honors Pathway to help launch first generation college students complete college and begin their professional careers through their free participation in the Micro College Program of Honors Pathway.
This program is crucial in helping our students meet their ultimate academic and life goals. We know that although more low-income, first generation students are enrolling in college, only 21% earn a college degree. Through this program, we believe that our BayTech students will be the ones who graduate and eventually change the world through their leadership.
Honors Pathway, Micro College, will be FREE to seniors who graduate from BayTech. This program is for low-income, college bound students who are capable but not yet college ready. The program enables students to complete TWO YEARS OF COLLEGE CLASSES AT NO COST and provides students with intensive support so that they can have a better chance at finding success in higher education. The program has proven to be effective in its pilot and BayTech is thrilled that we have been able to arrange this program for our students.
Through the use of this program, the BayTech High School continues to strengthen its academic offerings and build the capacity of its students to be successful after their high school years. What's next for BayTech? A formal Dual Enrollment Program —stay tuned for more details as we are still working on this for our students.
BayTech would like to thank our High School Principal, Mr. Hughes, who will be spearheading the first class of students in this program. For those interested in helping with the program there may be available opportunities for leadership. Hughes will also participate in graduation coaching and post secondary strategies training provided by Honors Pathway. While recruiting our first class of students, which we know will be successful, he is taking on these extra duties leading the program to success.
