Bay Area Technology School is a tuition-free, college preparatory charter school aiming to improve student performance in reading, writing,  math, and increase the number of students who pursue careers in STEM areas. BayTech serves grades 6th through 12th. All students follow a curriculum that fulfills the California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) A-G course requirements. BayTech’s graduation requirements exceed the A through G course requirements in some aspects.

BayTech bases its educational program on the understanding that our nation's economic future will require a highly trained workforce in STEM. The comprehensive science education provided by BayTech helps students acquire a whole set of necessary intellectual habits and attitudes that might well be called “scientific habits of thinking,” an important component of critical thinking.

Bay Area Technology School is proud to partner with Oakland Enrolls to help you choose the best Oakland public school - district or charter - for your child. BayTech is a public charter school, free and open to all students. English language learners and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

The On-time Enrollment Application deadline for BayTech for the 2020-2021 school year is February 7, 2020. Applications received by this deadline will be included in our lottery, held on March 12, 2020. On Thursday, March 12 you should see all your charter school lottery results (OFFER or WAITLIST) in your student dashboard and at that time you can ACCEPT/DECLINE an offer. The deadline to ACCEPT/DECLINE a charter school offer is March 26, 2020. If you do not accept by this date, the charter school lottery offer(s) will expire. Once you accept an offer, offers from other schools will be automatically declined. You can remain on waitlists but may only accept an offer at one school.

If you miss the February 7, 2020 deadline, you will still be able to submit an online application for the 2020-2021 school year. Applications submitted after the February 7 deadline will be considered a Late Application - you will be placed on a waiting list at each of your selected schools, and/or offered enrollment if space becomes available. Late Enrollment applicants will be placed on waitlists on a first-come first-served basis.
