I would like to extend a warm thank you to all BayTech families who have become active 2006 - 2007 Parent Club members. There has been an overwhelming show of support from both new and returning families for Parent Club initiatives and activities. The Parent Club's executive committee is excited about working with parents who continue to express their enthusiasm, support and commitment to BayTech's academic mission through active membership in the Parent Club.

As a Member of the Parent Club

YOU have the right to attend Parent Club meetings, vote in the elections of officers, seek election, ask questions, vote on issues and in short determine the future of the Parent Club

YOU have direct access to information on issues and programs concerning the education, health, and welfare of your child

YOU have access to resource information and opportunities for your family re: education, youth employment, and parent empowerment

YOU have the opportunity to be better connected with Bay Tech - the principal, the teachers, and the staff

YOU have immediate access to learn what is happening at your child's school

YOU have the opportunity to actually be involved at school and participate in activates that enhance the educational environment at your child's school

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY

YOU have the opportunity to acknowledge that YOU consider your child's education important and want to be involved. (Research consistently shows that when parents are involved, students achieve more - regardless of socioeconomic status, ethnic/racial background, or the parents' educational levels. Children whose parents are involved also generally have higher grades and test scores, better attendance, and more consistently complete homework.)
