BayTech School

We have many exciting things going on here at our beloved school! Science is at its peak, as BayTech showcased its sci-entific talents with 60 students demonstrating their science projects at Bay Tech’s Science Fair which was held on March 11, 2010.

We had judges from UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab to select the best projects.The first place award was presented by Professor Ahmet Yildiz, after his invigorating science show. Students were very engaged and excited during his appealing experiments and were also given the opportunity to participate in performing the experiments along the professor.

You think that’s impressive? Well, this will make it even more impressive, not only Bay Tech had its own Science Fair, but also participated in the San Francisco Science Fair as well. This was held on March 24, 2010. Eight of our students submitted their science projects to the 57th Annual San Fran-cisco Bay Area Science Fair this year. BayTech was the only school from Oakland which participated in this Science Fair. Seventh grade students Khazhar Amurkhanova and Alexander Rabinovici received second place and third place respectively. Sophomore student Michael Egbuonu re-ceived a special award from US Army, Navy and Air Force through the Academy of Applied Sciences, Inc. Our Science Project Coordinator, Mr. Zack received Science Achievement Award. Congratulations to our students and Mr. Zack!
