What is Nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is simply ordinary technology at a much smaller scale. Nano is a Greek word that means one billionth at that is literally what a nano meter is; one billionth of a meter. when machines are at a nano scale they behave very differently. some physical properties do not apply and a ratchet at nano scale can behave very differently from a regular ratchet.  scientist are trying to harness this new behavior. They are trying to find  applications for this odd behavior. things like ultra light plastics can be accomplished by constructing a polymer of ultra light nano machines. Another pro of nano tech is that once a machine is made, it could construct replicas of it self. but the biggest issue of all is how to make nano machine. currently there are only a few ways such as bottom up and top down methods but researchers and scientist are working on new methods. new methods are being devised that use the electronic power protons and electron in atoms to construct nano machines. after a single component of the machine is constructed it could build the rest of it self. after being completed, the machine could construct more single components that continue to make more and more. eventually a entire polymer will be made at it will be big enough to be something like a sheet of cloth. The possibilities of nano technology are endless. Nanotechnology will be the next Dotcom boom or the next silicon valley. it will be the future propellant of technology and that is why Baytech is investing its students in nanotechnology.
